POSTERIOR DYNAMIC ANKLE-FOOT ORTHOSIS (AFO)
Properties:
The AFO is composed of two parts (rigid and soft part) already assembled.
The rigid part, made of composite materials, is positioned under the foot and along the leg to provide stabilisation, biomechanical correction and energy return.
The blue translucent areas on the footplate and calf part are trimmable.
The textile components (foam pads and strap) protect the leg and allow correct position of the device on the limb.
Indications:
These indications are biomechanical deficits of neurological, traumatic or muscular origin.
Footdrop.
Mild knee hyperextension.
Mild ankle and foot tri-planar instability.
Hypotonia.
Hypertonia.
Contraindications:
Do not use the product if the diagnosis has not been confirmed.
Do not apply the product in direct contact with broken skin.
Do not use in the event of known allergy to any of the components.
Do not use for patients weighing >60 kg.
Moderate to severe spasticity of the foot and ankle.
Open ulcers of the foot, ankle or lower leg.
Moderate to severe oedema of the limb.
Moderate to severe foot deformities.
Moderate to severe ankle and knee instabilities.
Moderate to severe fixed ankle varus or valgus conditions.
Non-correctable foot triplanar instability.
Plantarflexion contracture.
Trimmable on the toe, medial side of the footplate and the calf cuff
